Oriental Insurance Company Limited (OICL) is a leading public sector general insurance company which is wholly owned by the government of India. OICL is one of the most prestigious and leading public sector insurance companies of India. The company has developed various types of insurance covers to cater to the needs of both the urban and rural population of India. Every year OICL recruits ingenious students for the post of Administrative Officer (AO). The headquarter of the company is located in New Delhi. It has 31 regional offices and more than 1800 active branches across the country. The company also has branches in Nepal, Kuwait, and Dubai. The Company offers more than 170 General Insurance products. Its portfolio consists of a large no. of general insurance policies, offered to a wide list of clients encompassing different sectors of the economy.

OICL conducts OICL AO Exam every year to recruit eligible candidates to the post of Administrative Officer (Officer in Scale I Cadre). OICL AO 2019 will be conducted shortly with the same agenda of recruiting bright minds in the country to the post of AO in one of the many branches of Oriental Insurance Corporation Limited.

Oriental India Insurance Limited has yet not released the notification for OICL – AO 2019. For reference of upcoming vacancies, the vacancies of OICL – AO 2018 can be stated as a whole of 300 posts of Administrative Officers which include 44 seats for SC, 21 seats for ST, 77 for OBC and 158 for General/ Unreserved post.

Eligibility Criteria for OICL – AO

The eligibility criteria of NICL AO are the set of rules in terms of age, academic qualifications and nationality which the candidates must fulfill inorder to be eligible for the exam. 

  1. Age Limit
  • Minimum Age Limit: 21 years
  • Maximum Age Limit: 30 years

Age Relaxation

  • SC/ ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • Physically Handicapped: 10 years
  • Physically Handicapped + OBC: 13 years
  • Physically Handicapped + SC/ST: 15 years
  1. Educational Qualification

Candidates must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized University/ Institution. Candidates should have atleast 2 years of experience in any Life Insurance sector of Insurance Company.

The eligibility criteria in field of educational qualification may vary according to the different departments.

OICL – AO Syllabus & Exam Pattern

OICL AO Recruitment is conducted in 3 phases: Paper – 1, Paper – 2 and Interview round.

Paper – 1 is an Objective Based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) Online Mode Exam. The paper is divided into 3 sections. Paper -1 contains 100 questions of 100 marks to be completed in composite time duration of 60 minutes.

Paper – 2 is also an Objective Based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) Online Mode Exam followed by a Descriptive Test. This paper is divided into 5 sections and followed by a descriptive exam of 30 minutes. Each section carries 40 questions for 40 marks and composite time of 120 minutes. Descriptive test contains 3 questions of 30 marks.

Interview is the final phase for the selection of a candidate.

OICL AO Paper – 1/ Prelims

Paper – 1 is an Objective Based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) Online Mode Exam. Paper – 1 is divided into 3 sections, General Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language. General Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude contain 35 questions each and are of 35 marks and English Language contains 30 questions for 30 marks. Paper – 1 has to be completed in a composite time – duration of 60 minutes.

OICL AO Paper – 2/ Mains

Paper – 2 is also an Objective Based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) Online Mode Exam followed by a Descriptive Test. The paper pattern of Mains Exam of OICL – AO is different for Specialists and Generalists.

For Specialists, Paper – 2 is divided into 5 sections, General Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, General Awareness and Professional Knowledge and these sections are followed by a Descriptive Test. Each section contains 40 questions of 40 marks and a composite time – period of 120 minutes.

Descriptive Test

The Descriptive Test will contain 3 questions asked in English that will carry a total of 30 marks and has to be completed in 30 minutes.

NICL AO Final Round/ Interview
