Haryana Police

The Haryana Police Department is the law enforcement agency for the state of Haryana, India.The Haryana Police were formed when the state of Haryana was established after bifurcation from the state of Punjab on 1 November 1966. The organization is governed by the "Punjab Police rules" which were framed in 1934. The State Government passed its police act in 2008. The same police practices being followed by police organizations in North India. At the time when the state of Haryana was established, the organization had the responsibility for enforcement of the law in 6 districts and had strength of 12,165 personnel with Commando wing.

Job Profile and Vacancies of Haryana Police

The Police Stations are manned by officers of the rank of Sub-Inspectors, Assistant Sub-Inspectors. Head Constables and Constables both in Law and Order duties as well as investigation and the Incharge of the Police Station is an officer of the rank of Inspector or Sub-Inspector. The job of Police officers includes a various duties to fulfill, among them some are as follows:- 

  1. Registration of FIR/NCR
  2. Investigation of the cases, arrest of the accused, recovery of stolen property, challaning of the cases and prosecution.
  3. Recording report regarding missing persons and children and tracing them.
  4. Verification of servants/chowkidars and tenants and registration of security agencies.
  5. Granting permission for loud-speakers, rallies, political/religious functions.
  6. Checking of banks.
  7. Providing documents for filling claim in Motor Accident Claim Tribunal.
  8. Providing Guards for the transportation of cash, if required, as per police rules.

There are many posts that fall under a Police Hierarchal level. Exam for each posts are conducted separately, both internally (for department candidate only) and externally. A hierarchal view of these posts is:

Haryana Police Department has declared vacancies for the post of Constable and Sub – Inspector (SI). There are a total of 6400 vacancies for both the post, in which 5000 vacancies are of Male Constable, 1000 vacancies are of Female Constable and 400 vacancies are for Sub – Inspector (SI). Eligibility Criteria for Haryana Police

There are a set of expected eligibility criteria that you should qualify to apply for Haryana Police Recruitment 2019.

  1. Age Limit

For Haryana Police Constable,

  • Minimum Age Limit: 18 years
  • Maximum Age Limit: 25 years

For Haryana Police Sub – Inspector,

  • Minimum Age Limit: 21 years
  • Maximum Age Limit: 27 years

Age Relaxation

For the candidate belonging to the Schedule Caste and Backward Class categories relaxation of upper age limit of 5 years.

  1. Educational Qualification

For Haryana Police Constable,

  • 10+2 Intermediate Exam in Any Recognized Board in India.
  • Hindi / Sanskrit as a Subject in Class 10 Level

For Haryana Police Sub – Inspector,

  • Bachelor Degree in Any Stream with Hindi / Sanskrit as a Subject in Class 10 Level.

Haryana Police Syllabus & Exam Pattern

Recruitment Exam for the post of Haryana Police is conducted in 4 phases: Knowledge Written Test (KWT), Physical Screening Test (PST), Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Document Verification.

Knowledge Written Test (KWT) is an Objective Based Exam. Exam of this phase is further divided into 4 sections. This KWT is of 80 marks and carries 100 questions. Time – duration of 90 minutes as a whole is allotted to complete this test.

Physical Screening Test (PST) is qualifying in nature. It is conducted to judge physical fitness and endurance.

Physical Measurement Test (PMT) is conducted after qualifying Knowledge Written Test and Physical Screening Test.

Document Verification is the last phase for selection.

Haryana Police – Written Knowledge Test (KMT)

Knowledge Written Test is an Objective Based Exam. Exam of this phase is further divided into 4 sections, which are, General Studies & Current Affairs, General Science, General Reasoning & Mental Aptitude and Computer & Other Concerned Subjects. This KWT is of 80 marks and carries 100 questions. Time – duration of 90 minutes as a whole is allotted to complete this test.

Haryana Police – Physical Screening Test (PST)

Physical Screening Test is qualifying in nature. It is conducted to judge physical fitness and endurance. Candidates who will be qualified in Knowledge Test will be eligible for the Physical Screening Test.

Haryana Police – Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

Haryana Police – Document Verification

All the candidates who have qualified the Physical Screening Test shall be called for the screening of documents. After the verification of documents or after qualifying this round, candidate will be selected for Haryana Police. The no. of selected candidates will be equal to the no. of vacancies released earlier.

Haryana Police Exam Date

Haryana Police has yet not released it whole exam dates calendar for the post of Constable and Sub – Inspector. A tentative exam date schedule is given below.
