DMRC

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited, abbreviated to DMRC, is a Centre-state Public Sector company that operates the Delhi Metro. The DMRC is also involved in the planning and implementation of metro rail, monorail, and high-speed rail projects in India and abroad. The work of DMRC is broadly fragmented into various parts namely Projects, Operation and Maintenance, Finance, Human Resources etc. which are controlled by the respective Directors under the direction of Managing Director.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. was created on 3 May 1995 with E. Sreedharan serving as the first managing director. Sreedharan handed over charge as MD of DMRC to Mangu Singh on 31 December 2011.

DMRC has made it compulsory to wear safety helmets on construction sites. It also earns carbon credits with rainwater harvesting at metro stations and runs an HIV/ AIDS program for workers.

DMRC received Outstanding PSU of the Year (2016) award conferred by All India Management Association (AIMA). DMRC was awarded for its "Outstanding Contribution" for promoting world class services in Urban Transportation and adopting best practices of Project Management.

Eligibility Criteria for DMRC

There are a set of expected eligibility criteria that you should qualify to apply for DMRC Recruitment 2019.

  1. Age Limit
  • Minimum Age Limit: 18 years
  • Maximum Age Limit: 28 years

Age Relaxation

  • SC/ ST : 5 years
  • OBC : 3 years
  • Physically Handicapped : 10 years
  • Physically Handicapped + OBC : 13 years

  1. Educational Qualification
  1. Assistant Manager – Electrical / S&T / Operations / Stores / Environment / IT
  • You should be GATE Qualified for the year 2017.
  • You should have at least 60% marks / equivalent CGPA in B.E. / B. Tech. in the respective discipline from a Govt. recognized University / Institute, with a valid GATE score.
  1. Assistant Manager – Fire
  • You should hold a B. Sc. (3 years duration) or equivalent from a Govt. recognized University.
  • You should have one-year Advance Diploma of National Fire Service College of Nagpur or BE (Fire) of NFSC, Nagpur or equivalent.
  • You should be at least 165 cm tall, and your chest should measure 81 cm – 86 cm expanded.
  1. Jr. Engineer – Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Civil / Environment / Assistant Programmer
  • You should have 3 years Engineering Diploma in the respective discipline / equivalent trade from a Govt. recognized University / Institute.
  1. Librarian
  • You should have a B. Lib with minimum 60% equivalent CGPA from a Government recognized university.
  1. Legal Assistant
  • You should hold an LLB with minimum 50% marks from a recognized Govt. recognized University / Institutes or National Law School.
  1. Fire Inspector
  • You should hold a B. Sc. (3 years duration) or equivalent from a Govt. recognized University.
  • You should also have 1 – year fire safety course from a government recognized University.
  • You should be at least 167 cm tall, weigh at least 51 kg and your chest should measure 81 cm & 86 cm expanded.
  1. Maintainer – Electrician/ Electronic Mechanic/ Ref & AC Mechanic/ Fitter
  • You should hold an ITI (NCVT/ SCVT) degree in the respective field.
  1. Office Assistant
  • You should hold a BA/ B. Sc. / B. Com. degree from a Govt. recognized university.
  1. Store Assistant
  • You should have an Engineering Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Civil or equivalent from a recognized university.


DMRC Syllabus & Exam Pattern

DMRC conducts exam for multiple posts in 3 phases: CBT (Paper – 1 & 2), Group Discussion and Interview.

CBT (Paper – 1) is an Objective Based Online Mode Exam. This paper is further divided into 4 sections, each section contains 30 questions and is of 30 marks. Paper – 1 has time duration of 90 minutes.

CBT (Paper – 2) is Descriptive Based Online Mode Exam. This paper has 3 sections, of 60 marks and time duration of 45 minutes as a whole.

Group Discussion is done after qualifying CBT (Paper – 1 and 2).

Interview is the final phase for selection in DMRC.

CBT (Paper – 1) is an Objective Based Online Mode Exam. This paper is further divided into 4 sections, General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and Technical Subjects, each section contains 30 questions and is of 30 marks. DMRC Computer Based Test (CBT) Paper – 2

CBT (Paper – 2) is Descriptive Based Online Mode Exam. This paper has 3 sections, Paragraph Writing, Comprehension and Essay Writing on Science & Technology of 60 marks and time duration of 45 minutes as a whole.

DMRC Group Discussion

Group Discussion is done after qualifying CBT (Paper – 1 and 2). This phase of Group Discussion is qualifying in nature.

DMRC Interview

Interview is the final phase for selection in DMRC.

On the basis of the marks obtained in the objective type of exam held for DMRC posts, merit will be generated and successful candidates will be called for Interview. After this Interview, the candidates will be given appointment for the post they have applied for in the DMRC.
