CTET is a qualification/ certification required for to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in most of the institutes. CTET Certificate is awarded by Government of India, according to a candidates’ performance in the CTET Level – I and Level – II exam. After qualifying CTET, you need to apply for teaching jobs separately.

CTET Application Date

CBSE has introduced a list of category – wise application fees for all the applicants. A description of their application fees is as given below:

 

  • General/ OBC: Rs. 700/-
  • SC/ ST/ PH: Rs. 350/-

 

Eligibility Criteria for CTET


There are a set of expected eligibility criteria that a candidate should qualify to apply for CTET December 2019 Exam.


  1. Age Limit

 

  • Minimum Age Limit : 18 years
  • Maximum Age Limit: No age limit.

 

  1. Educational Qualification

There are set of different educational eligibility criteria for different stage of classes, i.e., Primary Stage Classes and Secondary Stage Classes. Candidate has to fulfill a requirement in both categories out of 6 to get eligible.

 

For Primary Stage Classes (Class 1 to 5),

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE 2002 Norms OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4 – year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. E1. Ed.) OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2 – year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR
  • Graduation with 50% Marks and 1 Year B. Ed. Examination OR
  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education.

 

For Elementary Stage Classes (Class 6 to 8),

  • Bachelor Degree and passed or appearing in final year of 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1 – year Bachelor in Education (B. Ed.) OR
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1 – year Bachelor in Education (B. Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE Norms OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4 – year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. E1. Ed.) OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4 – year B.A./ B.Sc. Ed. or B.A. Ed./ B.Sc. Ed. OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1 – year B. Ed. / (B. Ed. Special Education).
